Here’s a fabulous chunky style bakelite demi parure, consisting of a beaded choker, bracelet, and earrings by Robert. The lovely demi is comprised of butterscotch yellow bakelite beads that have been carved in a geometric Deco design, in graduating sizes.
The beads are adorned with filigree caps along with rhinestone rondell separators. The color of the filigree has oxidized over time, although some of the original silver plating is still evident in some spots. The earrings have a crescent moon shaped filigree backing, and a decorative floral cluster in front that consists of prong set clear faceted rhinestones in chaton and navette cuts and little white pearl beads. This leafy flower design still has some remnants of the silver plating – the stones themselves are clear and complete, and all of the small white beads have survived intact.
The choker measures 16&1/2 inches in length from end to end (excluding hook clasp) -- the bracelet measures 7&1/2 inches in length and has a 1&1/4 inch length end drop – the earrings measure 7/8 of an inch wide and hang 1&7/8 inches in length, have clipbacks, and are signed Robert. The demi has a combined weight of 77.2 grams.
