There is a lovely ethereal quality to this delicately hand painted scarf from Japan. The semi sheer scarf is comprised of a polyester chiffon fabric in a vibrant turquoise blue, with beautifully rendered hand painted butterflies in metallic gold and copper tones, with white highlighting.

The long rectangular piece measures 8&3/4 inches wide by 47&1/2 inches in length. It has a label which reads Hand Painted, 100% Polyester, RN 16304 which dates to 1960, along with Made in Japan and fabric care instructions on the reverse.
